Some people are born to advantage, privilege. Edmond was born to village idiots who put all his skill points into Luck. They knew an opportunity to win the lottery when they saw it.

Edmond doesn’t want to be a winning ticket. He dreams of becoming a great hero and scholar. Impossible goals when your Intelligence and Wisdom stats couldn’t be lower.

Is Edmond nothing but a walking rabbit’s foot? Will his parents’ dreams of easy fortune come true? It’s all just a lucky roll away.

This was a fun, quick read. I wasn’t quite sure how I’d like the premise, but once I got into it, I couldn’t put it down.  The characters in this story know their attribute numbers, as if they were a character in a role-playing game.  Their lives and actions are dictated by the numbers their parents give them when born.  Brilliant!

Well-written and smart, I liked this one so much, I went out and picked up the second in the series.  I will be reading it soon.  Strongly recommend this one to the Fantasy reader, as well as Fantasy role-players. It’s fun.
